At Sacred Fire, we believe the next “new thing” is the “old thing” – living simply and in “right relationship” with all of creation. We feature the wisdom, humor, stories and lifeways of spiritual elders, healers, tradition holders and everyday people who experience life in close connection with nature and Divine.

Through our beautifully illustrated interviews, articles, essays, poetry and art, readers re-discover a worldview that offers solid footing in troubled times. Sacred Fire re-awakens the indigenous heart in all of us, so we can find healing, create loving relationships and build sustainable communities that honor and celebrate the Divine energies alive and at play in the world.

Re-awakening the Indigenous Heart in All of Us

The spark is here, inside  each one of us. It’s the joy and the light and the fire—and the peace and the quiet knowing.  Sacred fire burns in us all, connecting us directly to the very essence of life. To the Divine.

To many people in Western society, the thought of living life in direct connection with Divine is a “symbolic ideal,” a “New Age concept” a “religious belief system.”  But more and more people are awakening to this fact: Divine connection is real.

Once experienced, it opens the door to an entirely new way of perceiving and moving in the world.

When we are seeking direct connection with Divine, who are our best and wisest guides?

Those peoples whose ancestors never forgot their essential root connection to the land and sky.  Those peoples whose elders continue to walk the path of right relationship with all living things, the four directions, the earth, the air, the fire, the water.

The ancient traditions are living today.
